The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has invited individuals to request appointments for the handover of new land agreements concerning the Gulhifalhu residential plots, following a change in plot location due to revisions in the land use plan.
Following the land use plan revision, a re-draw was held on 31 May to determine the location of the land plots under the Binveriyaa Scheme as previous allocations were invalidated. The original agreements have now been canceled, and the plots reallocated from a new location.
According to the Ministry, it is now ready to issue new land registries and agreements to Gulhifalhu land recipients. Appointments can be made from the Hiyaavahi Portal from 1 July to receive the new documents, with document issuance set to commence on 7 July from 09:30 am.
The Construction Ministry said appointments will be cancelled for those who fail to attend within five minutes of their scheduled time or those who do not submit the required documents. A list of documents required will be listed in the Government Gazette.
The date, time and place of the appointment will be informed to applicants through the Hiyaavahi Portal and via SMS.
The land use plan for Gulhifalhu was prepared by the former government without allocating adequate space for essential services. Additionally, some plots assigned from areas that have not yet been reclaimed. The Gulhifalhu land use plan has now been revised three times.
