Applications Open for Presidential, High Achievers Scholarships

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development has opened applications for students who completed their higher secondary education in 2024 eligible for the president’s scholarship and high achievers' scholarship.

The deadline to submit applications expires on 30 September.

The Ministry in its announcement said, students eligible for the presidential scholarship must have earned a grade of A* in five subjects, including Dhivehi and Islam, while scoring at least pass in the Ordinary Level examination or equivalent examination in English.

Students who are eligible and are interested can apply for the scholarship via the Ministry's website.

Additionally, the Ministry said that students who receive high achievers scholarships will be given the opportunity to study within the fields listed in the National Training Needs List. The list comprises key sectors of the Maldives which require advancement in the nation.

However, students who receive the presidential scholarship will be given the opportunity to study in any field of their choice, the Ministry added.

These fully funded scholarship opportunities are available for eligible students to complete their first bachelor's degree.
