As the Maldives celebrates the 60th anniversary of its independence this year, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has designated an official logo to commemorate the milestone. The logo will be used on official letters and documents issued by government agencies from 26 July 26, 2025 to 25 July, 2026.
The decision was announced through a directive issued by the President’s Office. The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage will provide the necessary guidance and information to government offices to facilitate its implementation.
The Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage earlier this month opened submissions for a commemorative logo to be used for state’s official documents and other purposes throughout the year. The requirements for the logo included the logo design symbolising Islam, the Maldivian language, culture, heritage, identity and the country’s independence. In addition, the use of colors that symbolises the Maldives was also part of the requirements.
The winning logo for the 60th Independence Day was designed by Faruhad Ibrahim.
