The Maldives and Dominica have signed a visa waiver agreement allowing citizens of both countries to travel visa-free for up to 30 days.

The Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for their Respective Citizens was signed on Wednesday, enabling nationals of the Maldives and Dominica to enter each other’s countries without a visa for stays up to 30 days.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Maldivian government by Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, and on behalf of Dominica by Philbert Aaron, Permanent Representative of  Dominica to the United Nations. The signing ceremony was held in New York, at the Permanent Mission of Maldives.

The signing of the agreement will open up new opportunities for deeper engagement and increased people-to-people exchange between the Maldives and Dominica.
