Maldives Explores Education Sector Development with Saudi Ambassador

Maldives has held discussions with Saudi Arabia on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the education sector of the island nation.

The discussions took place when the newly appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Dr Ismail Shafeeu on Monday.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the education sector, the Ministry of Education said in a post on X.

Ambassador Yahya Hassan Alhqahtani had presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on 6 July.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were established on 17 March 1981.

Saudi Arabia over the years has continued to be a committed partner in the infrastructure development of the Maldives.
