President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Thursday met Dr. Willy Mutunga, the Special Envoy of the Commonwealth Secretary General.
During the call held at the President’s Office, the President welcomed the Special Envoy to the Maldives and expressed sincere gratitude for accepting the role of the Special Envoy.
The President and the Special Envoy also discussed areas of further cooperation between the Maldives and the Commonwealth, the President’s Office said.
The President was accompanied at the meeting by Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aishath Azima Shakoor, Minister for Legal Affairs of the President’s Office, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed the Foreign Secretary and Mohamed Naseer, Under Secretary at the President’s Office.
