The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, has stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is working diligently to enhance the organisation and quality of the Maldives Police Service.
The Minister made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of the 40th Police Basic Training Course.
In his address, Minister Ihusaan said policing requires courage and bravery, patriotism, and a strong sense of public service. He congratulated the new graduates who successfully completed their training.
The Minister stressed that the police service plays a vital role in safeguarding national security and peace, and said the institution embodies key principles essential for the country’s progress.
Noting the President’s commitment to improving the police service, Minister Ihusaan said significant efforts are underway to achieve this. He pointed to the government’s aim to establish a police presence on every inhabited island in the Maldives before the end of the year as a clear example of the commitment.
"A major project is currently underway to improve the infrastructure required by the Maldives Police. More than 100 islands have been committed to the project, which is progressing at different levels. All this is being carried out by the President to ensure the best possible service to the public,” the Minister said.
The Minister further described the police service as an institution that provides important foundations for the development of the nation. He called on the police to serve the people with love and respect.
