The financial statements of the Members of Parliament have now been made public.
The Parliament had earlier required members of the 20th Parliament to submit their financial statements by 31 August, marking one year since they took oath on 28 May last year. While the deadline expired on Sunday, 88 members have submitted their financial statements, which have now been published on the Parliament’s website.
Under parliamentary rules, members must declare details of their income and assets annually. Out of 93 Parliament Members, five have yet to submit their statements. They are Ismail Nizar, Mohamed Shamin Habeeb, Mohamed Musthafa Ibrahim, Mohamed Nazim, and Ahmed Zameer.
