Shaamil 2025 Opens to Showcase Talent of Seniors Citizens, Persons with Disabilities

The Ministry of Social and Family Development has officially launched "Shaamil 2025," a significant event dedicated to showcasing the diverse array of products and skills of senior citizens and individuals with disabilities.

The opening ceremony, presided over by the Minister of Social and Family Development, Dr Aishath Shiham, marks the beginning of a multi-day initiative aimed at fostering economic empowerment and public appreciation for these talented members of society.

The "Shaamil 2025" event serves as a unified platform for senior citizens and persons with disabilities to present their creations to the public. Beyond mere exhibition, the initiative is designed to facilitate direct sales of these products, thereby providing tangible economic benefits and fostering a sense of independence.

The Ministry emphasised that a core objective is to empower these individuals by creating avenues for their talents to be recognised and rewarded.

Attendees can expect a rich programme that extends beyond product displays. The Ministry has announced that "Shaamil 2025" will feature a variety of cultural activities and entertainment items, specifically curated to engage and involve both senior citizens and people with disabilities, further celebrating their contributions and fostering community spirit.

The event is scheduled to run from 13 November, with the exhibit open from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and again from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It will then continue on from 15 to 16 November, with extended hours from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and another slot from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The National Art Gallery will be open to all visitors during these times, offering a unique opportunity to explore the remarkable works and engage with the creators.
