President and First Lady Call for Safe, Dignified and Hopeful Future for Every Child

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed that the nation stands united in guaranteeing every child a future of safety, dignity, and opportunity in his message marking World Children's Day.

In a post on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu described children as the hope and heart of the nation, calling them the foundation of a prosperous Maldives. He urged the community to work together to ensure every child has the environment to flourish and thrive.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also called on society to reaffirm its commitment to listening intentionally and acting with compassion towards children.

In a post on her official X account, the First Lady highlighted that children across the globe demonstrate immense courage and creativity, emphasising that their voices deserve to be heard and respected. She underscored society's collective duty to provide meaningful opportunities that enable children to look forward to a future filled with promise.

Observed annually on 20 November, World Children's Day serves as a global reminder of our shared responsibility to promote children's welfare and uphold their rights.
