X-ray services have been introduced in Holhudhoo and Velidhoo of Noonu Atoll.
The service was launched at the health centres of both islands as part of Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim’s ongoing tour of the atoll’s inhabited islands.
The establishment of X-ray facilities is expected to greatly benefit residents by eliminating the need to travel elsewhere to seek the service. The service will further support doctors in making quick and accurate diagnoses, further enhancing treatment.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Velidhoo, Minister Nazim said the new service will strengthen the island’s health centre. He said its establishment reflects the public’s desire for accessible healthcare services on their own island.
The government aims to provide quality health services across all islands of the Maldives, and is undertaking significant efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in the atolls.
