Youth Hackathon 2025 has commenced, targeting young people interested in coding and technology.
A total of 85 youths are participating in the three-day event, and teams will present pitches and proposals in four thematic areas during the 48-hour hackathon.
Launching the event, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed said participation exceeded expectations, showing strong youth interest. He said the hackathon aims to engage youth in IT and create more opportunities for them, and generate innovative, technology-based solutions to real societal problems.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, with USD 6,485 for first prize, USD 4,864 for second prize and USD 3243 for third prize, in addition to sponsor prizes.
