Public Service Media, (PSM) on Tuesday appointed XL Energy Drink as the beverage partner of Maldivian Idol Season 2.
The sponsorship agreement between PSM and XL Energy Drink was signed at a ceremony held at Television Maldives.
PSM is now preparing for the second season of Maldivian Idol after the successful conclusion of the first season earlier this year with sponsorship agreements being signed with various partners.
Speaking at the sponsorship signing ceremony, Sales Executive of XL Energy Drink Machin Dika said the company decided to sponsor the show for the second season running because it believes the second season of the show will be an even greater success considering the popularity of the first season.
“We are designing a new batch of cans featuring an image of Maldivian Idol Season One winner Laisha Junaid and the show’s logo, which will hit the market in January,” he said.
Projects Manager of Maldivian Idol and Deputy Managing Director of PSM Aiminath Shaayan Shahid said the backing of an international brand will further boost Maldivian Idol show.
“Pre-registration for the auditions have now begun and prospective entrants can register via SMS,” she said.
Telecom provider Dhiraagu was appointed as the title sponsor of Maldivian Idol Season 2 while Allied Insurance is named the main sponsor.
“Locations of the auditions would be announced after the conclusion of pre-registration on September 10,” Shaayan added.
Anyone between 16 and 30 years of age can sign up for the auditions. PSM is currently seeking judges and hosts for the new season.
