Maldives Parliament Speaker departs on an official visit to Saudi Arabia

Speaker of the Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla has departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on an official visit from 19 to 24 January 2026, following an invitation from the Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council.

The Speaker is accompanied by a high-level parliamentary delegation, including Mohamed Shahid, Member of Parliament for Hulhudhoo Constituency; Hussain Riza Adam, MP for Maafushi Constituency; Ali Fazad, Member of Parliament for Fuvahmulah Central Constituency; Azim Abdul Azeez, Member of Parliament for Villingili Constituency; and Uz. Fathimath Niusha, Secretary General of the People’s Majlis.

Also part of the delegation are Mohamed Rasheed, Deputy Secretary General; Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, Chief of Bureau; and Zuyyina Badhree, Director of Foreign Relations.

The Speaker and delegation are scheduled to return to the Maldives on 24 January.
