Islamic Ministry on Sunday said final preparations are underway to hold mass Eid prayer congregations across the country.
The Ministry and local NGOs have planned 3 major events to mark Eid al-Adha in the capital Malé, including mass Eid prayer congregations at Maafannu Stadium in Malé, Villimalé Football Stadium and Hulhumalé Central Park.
In addition, the Eid prayers would also be held at 21 mosques in Malé, Villimalé and Hulhumalé, and designated mosques in all inhabited islands across the country.
The Ministry plans to visit hospitals and Hulhumalé Children’s Shelter in the afternoon to give Eid gifts to children, and is also organising a special activity at Rasfannu Beach Area.
Eid Al-Adha would be marked in islands across the country with cultural, traditional, sporting and entertainment activities.
