Maldives Zakat House has rolled out ‘Fitr Portal’, enabling individuals to view real-time data for cash collected on Zakat-al-Fitr.
Zakat House said that in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, it has established a fully digital portal titled ‘Fitr Portal’ to enable real-time viewing of Zakat-al-Fitr collections. This system has been established to assist individuals that may encounter difficulties with online payments, expanding the option for physical cash collections.
The aim of the portal is to strengthen the coordinated efforts nationwide by Zakat House and island councils for the collections of zakat and streamline the process. Additionally, this portal will enable Masarif al-Zakat to collect their share of the zakat at the end of Ramadan in a transparent manner that upholds Islamic shariah.
This marks an important step implemented by the recently enacted Zakat House to strengthen the administration and distribution of Zakat in the Maldives as per its mandate.
