MNDF Coastguard urges safety at sea

Maldives National Defence Force, MNDF Coastguard on Wednesday urged seafarers to ensure safety as a large number of people continued to return to Male’ after Eid al-Adha holidays.  

The coastguard is also conducting a vessel safety inspection programme, coinciding with the Eid holidays.

Under the programme, the Coastguard will inspect passenger and cargo vessels to ensure that maritime safety regulations are followed.

They will also check whether vessels have enough life jackets and proper GPS and communication devices.

MNDF advises seafarers to contact 191 in case of any emergency.
