The High Court on Monday published the 2nd issue of High Court Reporter.
The new issue focuses on reporting cases of sexual abuse of minors.
At a ceremony held Monday at STELCO seminar room, the 2nd issue was launched by retired High Court judge Yusuf Hussain.
Speaking at the ceremony, he said the issue would be beneficial to those who do case studies on the topic.
He stressed that the rulings included in the issue would not be available elsewhere.
A special seminar is currently being held on creating awareness on the information disseminated through the publication and the procedures upon which the High Court issues rulings in such cases.
Rulings on cases of sexual abuse of minors are not made available for the public, under provisions within the Law on Special Procedures for Perpetrators of Child Sexual Abuse Act, to conceal the identities of the victims. The case studies of the child sex abuse rulings made public in the issue were made in a manner which would not compromise the identities of the victims.The issue is now available for download on the High Court website.
