Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has opened an invitation for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the design and development of a yacht marina in Uligamu, Haa Alif Atoll.
The agreement for this project was signed by MPL and the Uligamu Council on first of August 2024.
A large number of yachts frequent Uligamu, particularly during peak season for tourism each year, during which many tourists visit the island. However, sufficient infrastructure and tourist services are currently unavailable. This initiative aims to resolve this issue.
Interested parties may submit EOIs to [email protected], or contact them for further enquiries. The deadline for submission is 1300 hrs on ninth March.
This yacht marina has been allocated to a particular area, with a three-foot wide floating platform on the ocean to be established, MPL has detailed. The marina is designed for marine vessels spanning a length of 12-15 metres.
During his visit to Uligamu, Haa Alif Atoll, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured residents that the development of the yacht marina will commence soon. He added that the government aims to carry out this project for continuous use.
