Hearing Impaired children appeal for more accessible services

Maldives Deaf Association on Friday urged authorities to ease difficulties faced by hearing impaired persons in obtaining public services.

The appeal was made by a group of hearing impaired children at a ceremony held Friday evening to present certificates to those who completed the third round of sign language interpreter training course.

Nine participants successfully completed the programme conducted by Maldives Deaf Association.

The aim of the course was to train more interpreters to help improve the services provided to children and people with hearing impairment, the association said.
