President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed arrived in the Saudi Arabia on Monday afternoon to undertake the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah.
The President and First Lady were received upon arrival at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah by the Governor of Madinah, His Royal Highness Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, along with the Director of Royal Protocol, Ibrahim Bari.
President Muizzu and the First Lady departed the Maldives earlier in the day.
According to the President's Office, all expenses related to the visit are being covered by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
Arrangements for the trip were finalised in February 2026.
