Hajj Mission arrives in Mecca, begins preparations

The Maldivian Hajj Mission and Maldives Hajj Corporation’s Advance team have arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of the pilgrims for the 1447 Hajj Pilgrimage.

Their role is to complete final preparations in Mecca before the arrival of pilgrims.

As in the last two years, Maldivian pilgrims will stay at the Al-Balad Al-Thayyib Ajyad Hotel. The Hajj mission and all helpers will also be housed at the same hotel. The Hajj Mission Mecca Office as well as the Hajj Corporation’s Office will be set up at the hotel, along with a health clinic for pilgrims.

Key tasks undertaken by the advance team and mission include coordinating with Saudi authorities and agencies for logistics. The team is holding meetings with relevant officials and service providers to confirm that all Hajj arrangements are in place, including Hajj rituals, accommodation, and meal services.

The main agent handling Maldivian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia is Rawaf Mina. The advance teams will make arrangements for airport arrivals and distribution of pilgrim NUSUK cards.

The pilgrims from the Maldives will start arriving in Mecca from the 15 May. Flights are scheduled for 15, 17, 18 and 19 May.
