The Maldives Hajj Mission has met with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Head of the Maldives Hajj Office in Mecca, Sheikh Imthithaau Abbas, along with members of the Maldives Hajj Mission, attended the meeting. Discussions were held with the Director General and the designated representative for Hajj affairs to the Maldives.
During the meeting, the Maldives Hajj Mission highlighted the close relationship between the governments of the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The delegation also outlined the challenges currently faced by pilgrims and discussed ongoing efforts to improve Hajj arrangements and services.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is the principal authority responsible for organising Hajj arrangements in coordination with other countries. The Ministry also supervises and regulates Hajj affairs managed by foreign delegations.
Each year, the Ministry works to enhance services for pilgrims, with one of the most significant developments being the digitalisation of Hajj operations.
Hajj-related services are now managed through a dedicated digital platform, improving efficiency and accelerating services provided to participating countries. Measures to strengthen the safety and security of pilgrims have also been further reinforced.
