31st National Quran Recitation Competition concludes

The 31st National Quran Recitation Competition came to a close on Thursday night at the Islamic Centre in Male’.

183 contestants from Male’ and the atolls participated in the competition which began on Sunday.

This year’s competition, for the first time, was divided into male and female categories, and unlike previous years, it did not set any age limits for participants.

President of the Centre for Holy Quran Ibrahim Rasheed said the date for the award ceremony would be announced at a later date.

The competition, held annually since 1981, is aimed at instilling love for Quran among people of all ages.
