Vice president calls for renewed unity during Eid al-Adha celebrations

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has called for the renewal of unity and solidarity that existed in the past as the nation celebrates Eid al-Adha.

In a social media post shared on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef extended Eid greetings and warm wishes to all Maldivians.

In his Eid message, the Vice President stated that the valuable lessons gained from the sacred days of Hajj should inspire people to become a more united and stronger community during Eid al-Adha.

He also stressed the importance of reviving the spirit of unity and harmony that existed in earlier times. In addition, he encouraged people to wish each other well and to greet one another with Islamic salutations of peace and goodwill.

The Vice President noted that, as elders used to say, unity is a powerful strength.

Eid al-Adha is one of the two major Eids celebrated by Muslims and is observed following the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage.
