According to reports, at least 44 people have died following days of heavy rainfall that triggered widespread flooding and landslides across Bangladesh.
The severe weather has caused extensive damage in the districts of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Moulvibazar and Habiganj, leaving more than one million people stranded or otherwise affected.
Authorities said floodwaters have inundated approximately 267,918 households, severely disrupting daily life. Homes have been damaged, kitchens destroyed and many residents have been left unable to prepare food. Power outages have also hampered relief operations as emergency services continue to respond to the disaster.
