Practice Parliament for Youth 2026 has been launched.
The programme is being conducted jointly by Parliament and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The programme will run from 1 to 8 August 2026.
The programme, with a total of 38 participants, aims to encourage youth participation in politics, increase youth representation in the Parliament, and motivate young people to contest political positions in the future.
This is the 14th Practice Parliament programme and the sixth edition focused on youth.
Participants will receive training on democracy and the political system, civic education and citizens’ rights and responsibilities in a democratic society, the role of Parliament, lawmaking, government accountability, budget scrutiny and committee work. The programme will also cover debate and public speaking skills, campaign strategies, political planning and contesting elections.
