Ambassador Adam Shareef presents credentials to Qatar's Emir

The Maldives' newly appointed ambassador to Qatar, Adam Shareef Umar, has formally presented his Letter of Credence to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at a ceremony held at Lusail Palace in Doha.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Adam Shareef Umar conveyed greetings and best wishes from Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, as well as from the government and people of the Maldives, to the Emir and the people of Qatar.

During the audience, the ambassador thanked Qatar for its longstanding support for the Maldives' development and reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. He said the two countries would continue to deepen cooperation through greater high-level engagement and collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The Emir congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. He also expressed confidence that the close relationship between Qatar and the Maldives would continue to grow during the ambassador's tenure.

Ambassador Adam Shareef Umar said it was an honour to represent the Maldives in Qatar and pledged to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador was accompanied by Mohamed Thahseen, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in the State of Qatar.
