Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has discussed key development priorities for Nolhivaranfaru, Haa Dhaalu Atoll with the island’s council.
The meeting was held at the President’s Office, with council members raising several development needs and challenges facing the island.
The council called for road development and the construction of a new school building to begin as soon as possible. It also highlighted the need to upgrade the football and futsal grounds and improve other sports facilities.
Other issues raised included the need to upgrade the island’s harbour, speed up work on the Police Station and improve services at the Health Centre.
The Vice President assured the council members that he would raise the issues with the relevant government authorities and closely follow up on their progress.
