Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has opened applications for its 13th medical internship batch.
The programme is a one-year internship that medical graduates are required to complete after finishing their medical degree and before formally entering the workforce. According to an announcement issued by IGMH, 24 positions have been made available for this intake.
Applications for the medical internship will remain open until 12:00 noon on 24 September.
Eligibility requirements for the internship; Applicants must hold a certificate confirming completion of an MBBS degree issued by a medical college or university, Applicants must hold a 'Certificate of Provisional Medical Registration' issued by the Maldives Medical and Dental Council and Applicants must have no police record during the past five years.
Documents required with the application include the MBBS completion certificate issued by the medical college or university, along with an attestation document from the Maldives Qualifications Authority. Applicants must also submit an attested copy of the document issued by the Maldives Medical and Dental Council, in addition to other required supporting documents.
Application forms can be downloaded from www.igmh.gov.mv. Forms will also be available from the NHA Office at Dharumavantha Hospital from 9:00am to 12:00 noon on every day that is not a public holiday. Completed application forms will likewise be accepted at the NHA Office at Dharumavantha Hospital between 9:00am and 12:00 noon on non-public-holiday days.
If more than 24 eligible candidates apply for the internship programme, preference will be given based on the date on which the applicant completed their MBBS degree, with priority given to those who have spent the longest period since completing the course.
Three government hospitals in the Maldives currently offer medical internship opportunities: Dharumavantha Hospital, Hulhumale' Hospital and Addu Equatorial Hospital.
