The 8th International Teachers Conference held to strengthen a culture of research among teachers and education professionals has concluded.
This year’s conference was held over two days from 12 to 13 September at Shaheed Ali School.
The conference focused on discussions regarding the challenges facing educators and their possible solutions, and exchanging ideas on improving the quality of teaching.
The conference was attended by over 300 participants, with 106 participants presenting 70 research papers. Cambridge University Press and Assessment’s Managing Director for South Asia, Arun Rajamani and Maldives National University (MNU)’s Chancellor Dr Mahmood Shougee also delivered key note speeches at the event.
The conference coordinator and National Institute of Education (NIE)’s Senior Curriculum Development Analyst Shuhudha Rizwan said this year’s conference received positive feedback from participants. She said participants benefited from panel discussions, paper presentations and keynote speeches.
The first day of the conference was dedicated to the theme, “Shaping a Responsible Digital Future for Education”, while day two focused on the theme “Beyond Academics: Reimagining Education through Inclusion, Values, Relevance and Diverse Pathways”.
A total of four workshops were held as part of the conference, with presentations on inclusive education delivered by Maamendhoo School of Gaafu Alif Atoll, Muhyiddin School, Thaajuddin School as well as Afeefuddeen School.
The 2026 conference theme was “Reimagining, Rethinking, Reform- Advancing Innovation for an Equitable and Resilient Future”. It brought together technical experts in education from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Egypt, Australia and India to exchange ideas on improving education and strengthening education systems.
