Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, and UAE-based Etihad Airways have signed a new partnership agreement aimed at strengthening connectivity and providing greater convenience for travellers.
The agreement was signed as part of the Arabian travel market.
Under the partnership, members of Etihad's Guest loyalty programme will have the opportunity to use Etihad Guest Miles to travel to numerous destinations within Maldivian's network.
Both airlines highlighted the partnership as providing significant convenience for international travellers seeking to travel to islands across the Maldives.
Maldivian said the partnership will also provide Etihad Guest members with more convenient travel options to the country's remote islands, via Malé, the capital.
Maldivian added that the partnership is expected to benefit the Maldivian tourism industry, particularly by increasing the proportion of tourists visiting local islands.
