Gov’t. awards contract to build $40M sports complex in Hulhumale’

The Government on Monday signed a framework agreement with an international construction firm to build a US$40 million sports complex in Hulhmale’.

The Framework Agreement for the National Sports Complex was signed by Minister of Youth and Sport Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Finance and Treasury Ahmed Munawar, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Mohamed Saiman, and Director of AGT Management Consulting and Construction Services, Murat Turkoglu.

The Sports Complex to be built in the Sports District of the Hulhumale’ Phase II.

“The Sports Complex is one of the biggest and most important projects for young people living in Hulhumale’, and it will have multi-purpose facilities to hold international tournaments with accommodation for the athletes,” Youth Minister Iruthisham Adam said after signing the agreement.

According to the Government, the project is expected to be completed in 2018.
