SriLankan Airlines on Thursday commenced direct flights between Colombo and Gan International Airport.
The inaugural flight landed at Gan International Airport around 8:15 Thursday morning.
Around 20 passengers travelled on the flight with CEO of SriLankan Airlines amongst the passengers, and they were greeted with a warm welcome upon their arrival.
The Sri Lankan national flag carrier says it is offering special fares to mark the commencement of direct flights between Gan and Colombo, adding that the first four flights have already been fully booked.
According to SriLankan Airlines, it is using an A320 aircraft for the operation and will operate four weekly flights to Gan.
