Indonesian Ambassador pays farewell call on President

The non-resident Ambassador of Indonesia, Harimawan Suyitno, has paid a farewell call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

During the call held Tuesday morning at the President's Office, the President thanked Ambassador Suyitno for the contributions made on his part to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Indonesia, and noted that the Government of Maldives holds in high regard further fortification of existing relations.

The President expressed interest in inviting the Indonesian corporate sector to the Maldives. He also conveyed best wishes for the Ambassador's next assignment.

The Ambassador highlighted on the mutual benefits accrued from establishing an Honorary Consul Office in the Maldives and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and support extended from the Government of Maldives during his tenure as Ambassador.

The President was accompanied at the call by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim and Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President's Office, Mohamed Naseer.
