First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim has begun a tour of Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
The first lady's visit is part of a campaign, aimed at meeting and inquiring about the needs of the vulnerable and people with special needs in the islands of Gaafu Alifu Atoll. During her visit, she is scheduled to visit four islands in the atoll. The first lady was warmly welcomed at Koodoo Airport upon arrival this morning.
Furthermore, she visited the islands of Maamendhoo and Nilandhoo and met with people with special needs and women from both islands and inquired about the difficulties faced by them. She also held successful discussions with officials working in the Health and Education sector of both islands.
The First lady is scheduled to visit Kolamaafushi Island tomorrow. She is accompanied by some cabinet ministers and parliament members during her visit.
