MCIF establishes training institute for South Asia in Maldives

Maldives Centre for Islamic Finances has established the South Asian Institute of Islamic Finance Training, in Maldives. The Institute was officially inaugurated by Minister of Home Affairs Azleen Ahmed at a ceremony held at Champa Central hotel on Sunday.

Speaking at the function, Azleen said that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom envisages transforming the country into an Islamic finance hub. He said the institute which was launched today would play a major role in achieving this goal. He added that the institute would help establish the country as a trustworthy Islamic finance hub.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Maldives Centre for Islamic Finance, Dr. Aishath Muneeza noted the tireless efforts by the government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to promote Islamic finance in the country. She said the country is gaining much momentum in the field of Islamic finance in the region. She further noted that they hope to make the institute a regionally renowned establishment in prompting the field of Islamic finance.
