Economic Minister says Maldives can be a leader in management

The Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed, has said that Maldives can be a global leader in the field of Management and called on Maldivians to express their view regarding the field in the international arena.

The Economic Minister made the remark while speaking as the guest of honour at the "Corporate Governance For 21st Century Leaders" workshop held by Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA). The one day workshop was held at Kurumba Maldives Resort.

The workshop aims to refresh and familiarize the knowledge of corporate officials on existing corporate governance codes and regulations. Over 30 officials from different institutions participated in the workshop, according to CMDA.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Minister Saeed said that Maldives is geographically the smallest country to gain such momentum in the corporate and management field in such a short period. The numerous achievements by Maldivian students studying management in institutions abroad, he noted. Speaking at the workshop, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CMDA Nadhiya Hassan said they are conducting various programs to familiarise local companies on corporate governance.

This is the third "Corporate Governance For 21st Century Leaders" workshop held by CMDA.
