President Yameen challenges critics to be more specific

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has challenged critics to be more specific in corruption accusations levelled against the administration.

Addressing a function held at State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), President Yameen said that, while accusations of corruption should be keenly investigated by any administration, there are several such accusations that have been ignored by previous administrations. He however maintained that since he assumed office, such investigations have been launched and therefore, if such accusations are being made, accusers should be more specific.

Noting that regardless of the person or country in question problems would emerge to a certain extent, President Yameen said that the only way to distinguish each other is the efforts made to solve the problems. The President added that the opposition's distaste of the current administration's principles translate to their dissatisfaction about the government's unbiased approach.

President Yameen further said that all Maldivian citizens yearn development and demand justice for all. He said that the country will move forward if citizens have faith in the state.
