An Indian cargo vessel travelling from Kulhudhuffushi in Haa Dhaalu atoll to Male' has crashed into the reef, south of Helengeli Resort in Kaafu atoll.
'M S V Dhaula' was loaded with general goods and vegetables when it crashed into the reef early this morning.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard, the incident was reported at approximately 05:10 this morning. MNDF has now deployed aid. Officials are now working with the crew to pull the vessel back to the channel.
