Project to upgrade Kulhudufushi Regional Hospital at final stages

Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim has revealed that practical work to upgrade the Haa Dhaalu Atoll Kulhudufushi Regional Hospital to a tertiary level facility will begin soon.

Answering a question posed by PSM News, the Health Minister said, legal work related to handing over the management of Kulhudufushi Regional hospital to India's NIMS Hospital, was in its final stages. He assured that the project would revolutionize healthcare provided in the greater north region of the country.

The project would see expansion of Kulhudufushi regional hospital's capacity from 50 to 150 beds. The project would expand the services provided by the hospital to include specialized services provided by NIMS Hospital. The process of upgrading the hospital would be completed within one year, according to the Health Ministry.
