MIRA generates MVR 1 billion as revenue in April

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has generated more than MVR 1 billion as revenue in the month of April. 

Government tax authority, MIRA reveals that last month they generated MVR 1.3 billion for the authority. This is an increase of 26.5% compared to April 2016.

MIRA attributes the increase mostly to earnings from Goods and Services Tax (GST). Withholding tax, airport service charge, remittance tax, tourism land rent and land acquisition and conversion fees also increased compared to April 2016. MIRA's monthly revenue details show that they collected more than MVR 655 million as GST. MIRA also collected a total of USD 3.1 million as revenue.
