Maldivian economy will gradually develop: Finance Minister

Minister of Finance and Treasury Ahmed Munawwar has said that the economy of the Maldives will gradually develop this year, as previously predicted.

Speaking regarding the economic development of the country, the Finance Minister assured that the economy will improve and the quarterly reports show that they achieved a lot during the first quarter of 2017. Moreover, he said that as tourism sector keeps on progressing, Maldives economy will show rapid changes in the upcoming years.

In the 2016, the economy of the Maldives experienced an improvement of 3.9%. Finance Ministry expects the economy of the Maldives to increase by 4.7% in 2017.
