SAARC AAD Summer Symposium convenes in Maldives

SAARC AAD Summer Symposium has convened in Maldives, with 291 doctors from the SAARC region in attendance.

The 'Summer Symposium 2017' of the SAARC Association of Aesthetic Dermatology, would see specialists form the region discuss challenges they face in the sector. In the symposium that convened in Kandima Island Resort, a total of 291 doctors from Maldives, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka would be participating in sessions led by experts in the field.  Addressing the inaugural function as the guest of honor, Minister of State for Health Dr. Mohamed Habeeb stressed on the importance of such symposiums.

"Our medical fraternity is not very big and the facilities they have to get experience and continue medical education or professional development is limited. So, it is only through such symposia and conference and workshops that our people can be making themselves at pace with the fast developmental advances in the various fields of medicine,” Dr. Habeeb said.

The main purpose of SAARC AAD is, spreading awareness about aesthetic dermatology in SAARC countries, regular training and upgrading of aesthetic knowledge for dermatologists, organizing regular conferences, providing advice and technical support and publishing a journal and newsletters.
