President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom appeals to all Maldivians to make the best of the Holy month.
In his special message on the occasion of the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan, the President underscored that it is a true blessing to witness the Holy month and extended greetings on the occasion to the people of Maldives and to the wider Muslim Community. The President highlighted that with the month of Ramadan comes also the opportunity to engage in our beliefs and spirituality. Additionally, the President noted that the revelation of the Holy Quran took place during the month of Ramadan thus it is essential to engage in good deeds, avoid missing prayers and bring a renewed passion to studying the Quran.
Furthermore, In the name of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and in his own name, President Yameen also conveyed felicitations of the holy month of Ramadan to the leaders of Islamic countries. In his message, the President expressed his wishes for Almighty Allah to grace the Muslim Ummah with generous blessings and bring us all together in prayer for our peace, progress and prosperity.
