India to support development of Maldivian athletes

Ambassador of India to the Maldives, Akilesh Mishra has said that India will always support the development of young Maldivian athletes. He made this statement at a meeting held with the athletes' team getting ready for Asian Championship. 

At the meeting, Ambassador Mishra supported the athletes and expressed hope that they achieve great success. The meeting was attended by the President of Athletic Association and General Secretary of Maldives Olympic Committee Ahmed Marzooq and other individuals from the field.

Athletic Association revealed before the competition, that the Maldivian Team is to hold a special training program in India. The training programme is a scholarship granted by the Indian Government, according to Athletic Association.

Athletes will depart to India on the first of June for the training program. The team of 10 athletes will come back to Maldives after participating in the Asian Championship. Asian Championship is to be held at India from the sixth to the ninth of July.
