Foreign Minister meets with staff at Maldivian Embassy in Colombo

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim, has today met with the staff at the Embassy of Maldives in Colombo.

During the meeting held at the Embassy this afternoon, Minister noted the role played by Embassy in strengthening bilateral relationships and forwarding the policies of the Government of Maldives.

Foreign Minister thanked the staff for their efforts and hard work and highlighted the importance of effective consular service. Since Colombo has a large number of Maldivians community, Embassy staff should give priority to deliver quality consular services to them. Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of disseminating information on the developmental work undertaken by the Government and underscored the work done by Embassies to attract potential investors and promote tourism. 

Foreign Minister Asim also visited the Maldivian Education and Cultural Centre (MECC) later in the afternoon and met with the staff and teachers at MECC.
