PSM signs agreement with 46 islands to provide cable TV service

Public Service Media (PSM) has signed an agreement with 46 islands to provide affordable cable TV service in the islands.

Almost 100 islands expressed interest in getting affordable cable TV service via PSM, when the service was opened for the public on the 29th of March, according to the company's management.

The first such agreement was signed with Raajje Online in April. Thursday's agreements were signed with SatLink and five islands. SatLink, already provides cable TV service to 35 islands. Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Khaleel signed the agreement on behalf of PSM. Managing Director of SatLink, Hussain Mahid signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Under the agreement between SatLink and PSM, PSM cable TV service would be provided in all islands where SatLink has set up service and via all of the company's cable TV resources. PSM also signed with five islands including the islands of Hulhudhuffaaru, Ungoofaaru Aulifushi and Inguraidhoo in Raa Atoll, and the island of Maroshi in Shaviyani Atoll.

Managing Director of PSM Ibrahim Khaleel said that in the first phase of the project, the path has been cleared to provide service to six thousand customers from Male' and other islands. Managing Director of SatLink, Hussain Mahid assured that under the agreement with PSM, SatLink would try to provide quality service at an affordable rate.
