Four injured in speedboat fire

Three people are in critical condition after a speedboat caught fire in the northern harbor of Male' City. Two members of the crew onboard the speedboat attained injuries while two others received burns.

The fire was reported at approximately 1415 hrs in the afternoon and firefighters were dispatched to the area immediately, said MNDF.

The speedboat was docked in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when the incident occured.

Firefighters from MNDF Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire within a short period of time but the speedboat was completely destroyed.

MNDF Coast Guard has decided to move the speedboat to Dhoonidhoo for further investigation.
