Maldivian Ambassador present credentials to Vice President of UAE

The Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dr. Hussain Niyaz, presented his Letter of Credence to the Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai  Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Ambassador presented credentials at a ceremony held at the Presidential Ministry in United Arab Emirates to receive credentials of several new foreign ambassadors and swear-in eight UAE diplomats.

During the call after the ceremony, Vice President of UAE congratulated Ambassador Dr. Niyaz on the commencement of his term and conveyed greetings and good wishes to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the people of the Republic of Maldives. The Vice President also stated that the Government of the United Arab Emirates will continue to assist Maldives.

Ambassador Dr. Niyaz expressed appreciation on behalf of the people and the Government of Maldives for the assistance received from UAE in the socio-economic development of Maldives. Ambassador Dr. Niyaz also briefed the Vice President of UAE about the economic agenda of the government and assured commitment by Maldives to work with UAE on issues of common interest.
